This will print the PID of the offending process. If the process you’re looking for doesn’t show up, you can try “ps -A” to list all processes. Now you can stop the process with the command “kill [PID]”. If the process refuses to stop, you can use “kill -9 [PID]”, which issues an exit command that can’t be blocked (you may lose unsaved data).
