Thanks Sonic. Now I’ll have to listen again and this time take notes! I mostly use the crop and clone functions on photocopied documents and old photographs, but your heads-up on Gimp has encouraged me to try some more. Gimp and Audacity are my two ‘must-have’ applications. I don’t know about 2 hour sessions, Rob, my washing up and hoovering doesn’t take that long. And welcome back Scott.

Professional photographers do not use Linux!!. Adobe all the way guys!. Gimp 2.8 still doesn’t support over 8 bits color depth. A basic feature 20 years ago!. I’ll take a Mac or Windows for my photography workflow any day over Linux. Instead of creating a dozen desktop enviroments Linux developers fail to realize that people use apps to get their work done. and care less about what desktop enviroment. their using. Hence why OSX and Windows only have one desktop. If an operating system doesn’t support their favorite apps, than the operating system is useless. So go ahead Linux devs keep on creating another dozen desktop enviroments. This photographer uses Lightroom and Photoshop and not Cinnamon or Mate to edit my “raw” formatted photos. A format that gwenview and gthumbviewer fails to recognize! My rant!.

Thank you for the Gimp discussion i enjoyed that immensely, please do more on this in future shows with Sonic (thanks Sonic, even simple things like explain differences between the various resize functions, cropping, etc. Like many i use Linux Mint, but, opt for Lightroom and Photoshop Elements on Windows for my photography and printing there of. The work flow seems to be intuitive, each time i try Gimp/Ufraw, Darktable i get confused. I want to use Darktable and Gimp, but fall back to what, for me, works better.
